when john lunau markhams renowned historian and curator of the towns museum addressed a meeting of the markham unionviile lions club in melville united church oct 23 relying on his amazing memory with only an occasional glance at some notes john recalled the names of many stout pioneers who first settled in the markham area several families including ewart stiver of unionviile and fred rcid of
