archer memorial trophy for capturing 1st place the season opened again late last september with sheridan mall again being the sponsor of the club the team this season captured first place for the 2nd season in suc cession having lost only 6 out of 38 games played over two seasons thats only 12 losses out of 82 games steve falkner led the team and the league with fifty goals and should win the leagues most valuable player award he did win the perc topping trophy for the most valuable player in the annual east isest allstar game the panthers wrn the right to go to the ontario games in thunder bay against seven other jr b clubs from all over ontario this event took place between christmas and new years and was to determine a representative team for ontario at the canada winter games in leth- bridge alberta unfortunately the pan- thers discovered at the last minute that they werent allowed to play their full team- which hurt them they were still able to tie the game against the winner oak- ville blades the panthers won their first playoff a best of seven scries against the whitby scarborough young bruins 4 games to 1 and upon writing of this article the sheridan mall pickering panthers were entering the finals of their division against the second place club markham royals who form part of the toronto marlboro chain the executive of the panthers feel that eight players on the team will receive fully paid four year hockey scholarships after this season this means ap proximately 2000000 to each boy the panthers along with sheridan mall are very proud to be a part of this fact the pickering panthers will be extending their endeavours by having a two week hockey school with coach sherry bassin leading the staff- of instructors this school will take place at the art thompson arena starting june 29th and finishing july 12 1975 sherry bassin is considered by the experts as one of the finest teachers of hockey skills in hockey today the sheridan mall pickering panthers would like to thank all the fans who have made this season a big success panther bingo the doors opened on a new community minded endeavor monday sep tember 30 1974 for the sheridan mall and pickering panthers a bingo was started with the net proceeds to go the minor hockey in the area after solving a lot of problems we opened the doors to approximately 300 people the first night the crowd dropped a little in the beginning but then gained momentum to an average crowd of 350 avid bingo players past 8 weeks the program has pleased the public and seems to be the most accepted program in the area the staff had to be trained but are now up to a good standard the aim for this bingo season is io brujk even and to get an average crowd of 400 if we are able to do this there is no reason not to realize approximately 1000000 after next season for distribution to minor hockey come on out to the panther bingo and enjoy yourselves early bird games start at 730 pm and the late games finish at approximately 1100 pm in between there are 20 regular gameswith the early bird share the wealth panther special big top game panther share the wealth 100000 jackpot game these specials are mixed in with the regular games come on out and sup- port this community minded prject which appears to be headin for a big success canadian conservatory of music complete expert instruction from
