students must prepare at any one time and thus allows concentration in time on fewer subjects which should facilitate greater la- depths learning the announcement read the longer period will allow for im proved techniques in study research and preparation if a student does fail a course in the first semester he can possibly make it in the second semester which follows this means that students need thursday febtli ims is gtiitie green river funeral servic was held feb 6 for muriel gostick killed in a freak accident ca highway 7 early last week miss gostick- a teacher at green river public school was walking from the school to her car when she was int she was 57 years of age born in pickering township miss gostick attended ontario bible college and toronto teachers college before pm harking on a career involved in child evangelism in western canada after that she entered the teaching profession she taught in penetanguishene and mount pleasant school on the 7th- cone- of pickering for the past nine years she has taught at green river public school y she was an active member of green river baptist church where she served- as assistant organist sunday school joseph edwin wideman heart attack victim gormley funeral services were held friday for joseph edwin wideman 71 of elm rd stouffville who died of a heart attack while at work mr wideman was working on the frank bennett farm when he collapsed he died on the way to hospital that was feb 5 1975 mr wideman was born on march 17 1903 the son of samuel and elsie wideman on thesth cone of markham he was one of six children mr wideman farmed in the area of gormley for 37 years before retiring to live on elm rd in stouffville in 1966 he married martha cober on march 23 1929 a member of heise hill church in gormley mr wideman had belonged to that church since the age of 15 besides his wife martha he is survived by his four brothers ray willis isadore and jacob and two sons elvin joseph of uxbridge and lawrence of stouffville and a daughter mary mrs neal sider mr wideman also had eight grandchildren one sister mary predeceased him funeral service was held from oneills funeral home conducted by rev andrew mcniven and rev j steckley with interment at heise hill cemetery pall bearers included harvey wideman mervyn wideman john wideman harold wideman ivan winger and myron cober pianist and sunday school teacher always a great lover of books and history miss gostick did considerable research into the history- of the baptist churches in the area the results ot her work are installed in the archives of mcmaster university in hamilton assisted by mr g fmdlay the funeral was conducted by- rev c emery from dixon funeral home in markham with interment at st johns cemetery on the 7th cone of pickering miss gostick was the daughter of mr and mrs fred gostick she was predeceased by an older brother maurice john she is also survived by at brother russell of j claremont and five sisters myrtle mrs walter
