the tribune thursday nov 29 173 9 mrs alex schneider claremont loses christian lady claremont cn nov 13 the clare mont community lost a respected christian person a wonderful neighbor and friend in the passing of mrs alex schneider in scarborough centenary hospital mrs schneider suffered a heart attack following a period of declining health due to cancer she was 66 mrs schneider the former annie rose irene woodland was born in toronto but moved to goodwood with her parents mr and mrs fred woodland at age 7 she continued to live there until entering north bay normal school to train as a teacher she held positions at watten- wyl sixth line uxbridge and mckellar following her marriage she moved to claremont where she resided 41 years she was a member of the claremont baptist church the late mrs schneider took great pleasure in her family her home and her garden yet her life touched many in the community as well in her quiet practical way she was a source of encouragement and strength to countless persons within her church she served as sunday school teacher choir member and deaconess she also supported several orphans through world vision and was a faithful worker for the bible society this poem copied by mrs schneider shortly before her death reveals in essence her approach to life the clock of life is wound but once and no man has the power to tell just when the
