oppose grant extension to separate schools york cty members of the york county board of education have reaf firmed their position taken earlier this year and continue to oppose ex tension of grants to the separate school system a letter from the ontario public school trustees association asked con tinued support for the associations position on the matter such fragmentation of the ontario educational system and the resources of the public taxpayers is unthinkable and com pletely unacceptable the letter stated enclosed with the letter was a pamphlet published by the interchurch committee on protestant- roman catholic relations entitled a new separatism in ontario a further extension of the separate school system would the brochure stated pose a serious threat to canadian unity at a time when people of many faiths are being drawn together for improved social action community planning and religious activities it is backwardlooking to ex tend separatism into high schools
