was presented with a lovely leather handbag by sum mitvlew principal lome boadway at a ceremony june 22 mrs byer has retired to operate a private nursery school jas thomas stouffville jr secondary school academic bars for honor standing stouffville the storry becky herbert mrs steckley and mrs elementary department of jacquelyn johnston terry terhune the stouffville dist legeer joanne mowat secondary school held its joyce hutchinson sandy first graduation program schell craig waite kim mcmaster andrew leitch the students of dicksons hill public school held their graduation ceremony june 26 eleven year old debby hakonson was named winner of the top achievement award presented here by grade 6 staff teacher mrs mary barkey jas thomas students of stouffvilles grade 7 and 8 classes were honored at an awards night june 23 in the high school the recipient of the miss hosie english prize was graduate shirley aiken peter harris orchard park school june 23 at which time students of grades 7 and 8 were honored on their achievements throughout the year the chairman for the evening was staff teacher wm kingsley assisted by principal wm e dux- bury while the recipients of individual awards are listed elsewhere fiftytwo students attained honor standing of over 80 percent to qualify for an academic bar from grade 7 winners were robert boadway jane brodie lynne duxbury ronald schell david tremblay mary bolton joanne gould sharon gower dale grose david painter scott reesor susan sandra ogden sydney trotman fiona waite lorraine ward susan wilson marcia mcadam arlene boettger susan christie arlene clark colleen clarke kim hassard lyn kelly and sandra yeomans from grade 8 winners were paul burkholder heather goddart kim hinton david harris larry hogg jill schell joanne smith by staff teachers academic achievements allan e jones son of mr and mrs ralph jones claremont rr2 graduated may 29 from york university with his bachelor of arts degree in psychology stouffville twenty students received academic bars plus 80 percent and three received achievement crests at the annual awards night program for pupils of orchard park public school june 25 it was held in the auditorium of stouffville district secondary school academic bars were presented to the following grade 4nick bangay livie petrie stephen schell randy smith becky timbers barbie williams grade 5- kay blumreisinger sherri eby bill elson gayle fellows debbie foley laurie houston david huxtable julee nigh richard waite linda white grade 6- judy hopper shelly lynde trudy norton jennifer smith achievement crests were received byrichard waite judy hopper and douglas feasby grade 6 stouffville trustee and york board vice- chairman arthur starr participated in the plat form ceremony a highlight of the evening was a presentation and reception for staff teacher mrs noble she retired at the conclusion of the june term and is planning a trip abroad possibly to europe her work with other members of the staff and the students was praised by principal mr keith sutherland mrs barbara wideman presented her with a gift in token of appreciation another individual highlight was the presentation of the schools citizenshilp award won this year by steven dowswell son of mr and mrs roy dowswell albert street north thirtyone students over 80 stouffville marks of over 80 percent in all subjects is a high academic goal thirtyone students grade 4 to 6 were recognized for achieving this standard at an awards gathering june 22 at summitview public school the presentations were made
