stouffville stouffvilles hope for a minor hockey cham pionship died last saturday as the peewee allstars were beaten by a bigger and better team from huntsville disappointed yes but tears no the young hockeyists had done their best and it was good enough to keep them close it was a 31 win for the boys from the north after they had taken a 53 decision on stouffville ice to make it two straight in the best of three series of the semi finals the igas kept the winners off the score board in the first frame but trailed 20 at the end of the second the outcome looked evident but stouffville kept in there and david mumford was able to get one by tim harkness in the huntsville nets another tally by the blue and white made it 31 in the previous game the initial one of the series played in stouffville it was harkness who kept the visitors in the game during the first period his acrobatics performance held the strong stouffville attack to two goals while his mates managed a single doug villes heart at the 59 second mark of overtime and give whitby the 54 edge and the right to ad vance to the intermediate b finals against napanee it was a large and en thusiastic crowd that followed the clippers into the whitby arena they had much to shout about at the end of the second period when their team left the ice with a 31 lead in the final frame stouff ville came out and played wide open hockey it was so wide open that they were caught with their denims down and whitby bounced in front 43 at the 1010 mark when casey struck again with one minute left in regulation play and glenn
