acre lot from a larger parcel of land fronting on a private road has been rejected by the ontario municipal board the hearing was held at vandorf nov 12 mr ratcliff explained that while the township has never assumed main tenance of the road it would never be closed since it served as a right- ofway to other properties in the area mr ratcliff admitted that municipal services were not available but said that in his opin ion septic tanks were ade quate under questioning by township solicitors ian rogers mr ratcliff said that originally he had own ed 200 acres but his hold ings were now reduced to about fifty were all these sales ar ranged without submission of a plan of subdivision asked board chairman d s coburn mr ratcliff said he had filed a subdivision plan but later withdrew it henry nauta seated in the audience attempted to address the meeting but was ruled out of order he later testified that he had purchased his property with the understanding the road was free he said he later learned that mr rat cliff had retained owner ship leading to much con fusion in rejecting the applica tion chairman coburn said the board was sur prised that some previous lots had been sold minus a proper plan of subdivi sion he said that the lot in question adjoined prop erty containing the rat cliff home and would have to remain in that state with respect to applica tion fees paid to
