over a bubbling coffee percolator mrs elizabeth mc- knight and mrs jacqueline patterson are the swinging business operators of le villageur an intriguing boutique located on main street its been more successful than we ever dared hope said elizabeth mcknight she said the racks were being emptied of dresses as fast as they were being tailored background in dress design a vivacious woman of thirtyfour with a back ground prior to marriage in dress design eliza beths role in the profitable partnership is the tailoring while jackie 26 helps out with the business end the boutique in the former stiver building is completely renovated with an artistic decor of silver and white striped wall paper refinished oak floors small tables and antique jewelry cases le villageur is a boon for countryliving women with city slick dress sense and judging from the mixed patrons smart farmerettes chic sub urban mothers swish teenagers and even country club sophisticates its filled a need in there after suf fering a broken hip in a fall at home five days be fore born at goodwood the daughter of mr and mrs will todd she attended high school at markham and later toronto business college in 1895 the family home and carriage works in goodwood was destroyed by fire and the family moved to sttjfville to re side at main street and park drive north miss todd employed for a time at an office position in toronto returned to town to care for her in valid stepmother and serve as bookkeeper for her father during her lifetime she was vitally interested in church work she was a sunday school teacher in the methodist church and later a faithful worker in the united church parti cularly in the garrett stouffville district secondary school night classes night classes will be offered to the
