york county hospital new market july 17 born emma french may 26 1873 at ashburton south devon england she came to toronto in 1899 to reside with her sister and brotherinlaw the late mr and mrs richard pengil- ley after a summer spent in muskoka and a visit to her family in england in 1902 mrs french returned to canada to marry mr daniel fennell son of mr and mrs isaac fennell of brackcnrig one of the pioneer families of mus koka they made their home at glen orchard mr- fennell passed away on april 12 1954 after his death mrs fennell lived with her daughter and soninlaw mr and mrs j allan pope of gormley she enjoyed returning each summer to glen home hotel glen orchard for a holiday and a renewal of old friendships and acquaintances for the last few months mrs fennell had resided at parkview home stouffville the funeral took place at glen orchard united church on saturday july 20 with interment in the adjoining cemetery rev m r- jenkinson and rev a f binnington pas tor and former north east of par ry sound then motored to sault ste marie to spend a few days with mr and mrs gordon mcgrath for mer residents of clare- mr and mrs harry por ter had mr and mrs roy ward of oshawa as guests it their home last week mr and mrs don ncal of pickering mr david voll toronto and miss cas- sie obrien whitcvale visited with mr and mrs john neal sunday mr and mrs ken dean and son from dundas visit ed with his mother mrs harold dean sunday miss sharon neal and mr d boyle motored to ottawa for a few days and brought back diane to spend a few days with mr and mrs john neal mr and mrs george mc- connell former residents of claremont now living in aurora visited with friends here for a few days gormley it is a rather rare occasion when a couple with the same family surname but no re lation are married the heise hill brethern in christ church was the set ting for such a wedding june 22 1968 when ardys m winger daughter of mr and mrs clifford winger gormley became the lovely bride of gary l winger son of mrs ethel winger and the late arthur winger of stevensville- the ceremony perform ed by rev e c flewel- ling was conducted amidst beautiful floral decorations of pink peonies and orange blossoms given in marriage by her father the bride look ed charming in a floor- length gown of crystal peau de soie with short sleeves and a train falling from the shoulder a pearl headpiece held a shoulder- length tulle veil she car ried a bouquet of pink roses white carnations stephanotis and ivy the matron of honor mrs luella gilmore of wainfleet and bridesmaids miss joan wideman of gormley and miss marjorie hall of hagersville wore floorlength gowns of capri blue silk chiffon with em pire waistlines and mat ching peau de soie sashes flower girls miss susan gilmore and miss gwen winger were dressed iden tical to the bridesmaids they carried pink and white carnations with green ivy eva mae cummings service was conducted july 22 from the ward funeral chapel for mrs eva mae cummings who passed away thursday july 18 at humber me morial hospital following a lengthy illness mrs cummings the former eva mae strader is survived by her husband frederick g cummings of downsview one daughter janet mrs d aird and one son paul both of toronto there are six grandchildren mr and mrs cummings and family are former residents of ringwood in whitchurch township mr and mrs
