sched uled for july 22 to aug 2 in the church and school for ages 4 to 16- please note the change of time how to live through the long tg hot summer it is always a shock to read the accident rates on our super highways the oneway fourlane kind with a boulevard down the middle thousands of us will be using these turnpike roads this summer on vacation now is a good time to mention a few reasons smashups occur on these roads engineers once thought of as accidentproof trouble develops when ordinarily cautious drivers become lulled into drowsiness higher speed limits tend to be exceeded the drivers alertness instead of increasing with the speed decreases a driver following too close at 60 mph needs 120 feet to stop double what he needs at 40 sudden slow down of the car ahead has often caused four or more cars to pile up in rearend smashes best bet is to stay 20 feet one car length behind for every ten miles of speed stay in line unless its absolutely necessary to pass then watch the blind spot on your left in case another car is trying to pass you when you have passed be sure you can see the car youve passed in your rearview mirror before you cut back in line a couple of more precautions if youre tired pull over and take a nap if you dont feel well stop for a breather if your car doesnt have good tires and brakes better to stick to the side roads this is doubly im portant today when all roads are jammed tighter than ever with cars morkham chrysler dodge no 7 hwy laidlaw bird phone 2941742 pickering red cross canvass over 3400 by kay allman claremont the pickering
