as a hard ware merchant on main street he gained a wide circle of acquaintances both in town and country his interest however ex tended much farther than the front door of his store he was directly involved in almost every phase of community life mr buton was a mem ber of stouffville united church he served for sev eral terms on town coun cil he was a charter mem ber of the stouffville lions club and a member of the oddfellows lodge he enjoyed sports of all kind in particular a trip to the cottage or hunting camp on nogeys creek near bobcaygeon it was only last year that he per sonally parents to ringwood mr button rose to the rank of captain in the governor generals horse guards he was a graduate of the royal college of cavalry his wife the for mer agnes anderson passed away in bara and janet button also his two great grand children christopher and tamera curr surviving also is one son dr f john button and a daughter janet mrs norman bak er both of stouffville service was dobbin had been in de clining health for almost seven years she suffered from hodgkins disease surviving besides her husband are two daugh ters glenda marie 15 mary ann 10 and four sons john 14 stephen 12 ronald 8 and bobby 6 mrs allen was born at lindsay the daughter of millen and myrtle dobbin she was 39 prior to taking up resi dence in claremont one year ago the family lived on the altona road pick ering township she was a member of the clare mont united church and took an active interest in the ucw and girl guide association rev a e cresswell con ducted the service dec 30 from the observed that the mans thumb was badly cut and he recom mended that he seek med ical aid the motorist ex plained that he had injur ed his hand in an electric fan at a toronto office party he then calmly pull ed the thumb off and threw it away no visitors uxbridge until further notice all visita tion privileges to the ux bridge collage hospital have been cancelled the order was issued on tues day due to the seriousness of flu in he area it will remain in effect until the epidemic shows signs of a letup hospital authori ties agreed that resident patients should be pro tected as much as
