of kids he main tains that no child is real ly bad and charlie should know because he has had plenty of experience with children during the past nine years he and his wife nell natives of holland who now reside in stouff ville have cared for some 13 boys and two girls un der the foster children plan sponsored by the ca tholic childrens aid so ciety the projet of acting as foster parents was started at first by mr and mrs boss so that their oldest son randy would have companions and play mates but the boss fam ily also has increased charlie and his wife now have three sons and a daughter of their own never the less their in terest in having foster children has not dimin ished when charlie boss and his wife nell came from holland life was strange in this new country and it was quite lonely there was a language barrier for mrs bos who spoke no english at first but she gradually overcame this handicap they lived first in mark- ham village for two years then they moved to a large farmhouse in mark- ham township near stouffville staying there for three years it was while in this big farm house that they decided to take in these lonely child ren as a companion for their oldest son randy later they moved into the town of stouffville and presently reside in a four- bedroom home at 193 har old avenue active in scouting over the years charlie boss has been deeply in volved with kids especi ally in scouting he start ed as a scout leader in holland and after he came to canada some 14 years ago he continued in scout ing work charlie who is a member of the account ing- department staff of ontario hydros central region in willowdale has expanded his interests in childrens activities and now coaches them in min or league hockey and oth er sports he gets a real kick out of doing these things because charlie really enjoys kids but being a foster par ent has not always been easy and simple charlie has had to use psychology and to be firm at times in handling some of the youngsters sent to him and his wife he recalls especially one eight year old lad who came to live with the boss family this boy had been in 13 foster homes during one 12month per iod this was a real chal lenge for charlie and he volunteered to try and iielp this boy if he could the child resented all authority and good social behaviour was completely foreign to him when he came to stay at the farm house with the boss fam ily he soon started smash ing the barn windows and caused the death of 50 baby pigs there were no schedul ed meal times for this boy and it was a few weeks and many firm refusals later before he finally con sented to cat with the family however because of charlies determination and perseverance with this is whats for your convenience dick coffey motors parts
