into the building of a recreation centre east of ballantrae will be fully re alized and appreciated on saturday the site many months in the making will be officially opened at 1 pm by senator wallace mc- cutchcon of gormley the centre is whitchurch townships centennial project a colorful program has been lined up both after noon and evening in addition there will be pony rides and races for the kiddies beginning at 10 am softball games a tugofwar a chicken barbecue a corn roast singsong and dance wealth ok talent a wealth of talent has been lined up for the afternoon program from 2 to 4 pm and in the evening from 7 to 0 bob lewis a stouffville councillor and now a whitchurch landowner at bloomington will mc the afternoon performance featured guests will include soloists mary harris linda sargent and jim itehill all of stouffville highland dancer kathy cum- mings of altona presentations by molly mumfords edgevale dance class and a vocal duet by lemonviiles own ali nauta and maira koster showman wally koster will take over as master of ceremonies for the evening program at 7 he will be accompanied by the talented wideman sisters nancy and sharon of stouffville the folksong har mony of nancy murphy trudy and mike cadieux also of stouffville a barbershop quartet comprising jim rehill chuck harrott jerry waite and lome boad- way two dance numbers from music mania b7 and the talented danish dancers of toronto three bands three individual bands will appear on the days program the stouffville centurions in the morning the newmarket citizens band in the afternoon and the claremont citizens band at night the evening singsong will be led by lome boadway of stouftville with clarion baker at the organ live dance music will be provided by earl tyrons band featuring many of the modern numbers for teens as well as square dance tunes for the oldsters the chicken barbecue supper will extend from 4 to 6 pm the whitchurch recreation centre under con struction for over two years is located directly west of ballantrae school and a half mile east of highway 48 the variations of activities will make it a day of fun and enjoyment for the entire family the wideman sisters
