bouquet of deep pink sweetheart roses and wiiitc carnations and mums green ivy pro vided a graceful back ground of contrasting col our mr and mrs don cornel ius of cedar grove attend ed the bride and groom mrs cornelius wore a blue crepe empire waistcd gown with chantilly lace bodice and carried a nosegay of lilyofthevalley and pale yellow roses with blue sweetheart carnations mrs reg clendenen in navy crepe with sweetheart rose corsage and mrs jack mcintosh in multicoloured arnel jersey and johanna hill rose corsage received the guests the brides home at 20 ramona was tastefully dee- orated by mr tim clark with snapdragon roses and shasta mums mr clark also fashioned the bou quets and corsages after a delicious lunch eon by caterers from mor gan hall the guests were entertained by modern minstrels johnny wilson of markham and joe grant of brox grove who delight ed everyone with their ex cellent rendition of folk songs with guitar accom paniment the happy couple left for an extended village a display of more than 100 paintings and sketches depicting pioneer life as well as scenes of black creek pioneer village will be held at the pre-confed- eration community during the period miss steele friends of mrs harry clendenning will be happy to know that she is making satisfactory recovery fol lowing an operation last week in uxbridge hospital mrs harry pugh is com pleting the operation lllllliil street west in stouffville will mark his 3rd staff photo mr robert burnett main birthday july 21 a salute to a sensor citizen stouffville as part of stouffvilles centennial events program dur ing 1967 the committee is honoring senior citizens of the community who have reached or exceeded 90 years the tribune working in cooperation with this committee is featuring a short biography of a lady or gentleman each week who has reached this milestone we are pleased then to pay tribute to mr robert burnett main street west stouffville who on july 21st will mark his 93rd birthday mr robert burnett has resided in stouffville for the past 28 years before this he moved around considerably but never far from the stouffville area he lives with his sister clara mrs austin waggj one brother herbert passed away in 1960 and a sister luella mrs john dougherty died in 19g2 his wife the former sarah hall died september 20 1966 at the age of 90 they had marked their 65th wedding anniversary born near bloom ington mr burnett the son of daniel burnett and mary stapleton was born on a farm south of bloomington in the township of whitchurch howard doner now works the property i mr burnetts hearing is not as keen as it once was but the very mention of will focklers name brings forth a pleasant smile and hearty chuckle i re member how herb a brother and i used to play football in the flats at bloom ington will used to sit on the fence he was a kind of oneman cheering sec tion they both attended the bloomington school at the same time although will was a few classes ahead mr burnett can recall when the old school was torn down and the present building erected another old friend is sam mckuen of markham mr burnett helped to build the bloomington christian church using his horse team to draw materials to the site a member there for many years he now belongs to the memorial christian congregational church in stouffville enjoyed training colts horses played an important part in farm life during the late 1800s and mr burnett was an accomplished trainer of colts he raised his own dr wal ter sangster of stouffville was one of the first to own a car or gasoline buggy as it was commonly called mr burnett has owned seven cars prior to coming to stouffville he lived on the farm where mrs arthur wideman now resides and later at thornhill at one time he owned ten homes in town all are now sold mr burnett a farm boy knows what it is to put in a days hard work in spite of his 92 years he finds it difficult to sit back and take life easy although confined to indoors during recent weeks he was a familiar figure shovelling off the sidewalk during the winter and cutting the grass in the early spring stouffville salutes mr robert burnett a
