have enjoyed a trip to ottawa including expo and then on to new york to visit with rev and mrs mccombe mrs henry nauta enter tained miss magdalaine nauta on the occasion of her birthday mrs j nauta and family mrs k van vliet and family and mrs sencchal were among the guests mrs mccleary held her music recital at the lemon ville church congratulations to fran ces smith who won the snior championship at the centennial track and field meet joanne dodge tied for the junior girls trophy hillcrest home and school presented prizes to the pupils who made the most progress during the school year in hillcrest gr 1 and 2 david kin- sella gr 3 and 4 lois winger gr 5 and 6 craig mccleary and gr 7 and 8 charles ramsey mrs man- chee made the presenta tions the hillcrest school held their annual picnic at bruces mill bonnie camp- sail presented a set of centennial coffee spoons to mrs tripp the gr 3 and 4 teacher who is leaving this year for a position in a new school near rockwood the lemonville school held their annual softball meet at the school friday frances smith and tim glover presented mrs gan ders with a lovely electric blanket on behalf of the school mrs sanders and her husband will leave for a year of teaching at moo- senee at the end of the summer vacation mrs t preston enter tained her daughter to a bridal shower at her home on thursday night june will be married year asked reeve laycox mr spang insisted on making a notice of motion that a recommendation to the 1968 council be made that the dog licence be de creased included in the bylaw is an increase in pound fees 500 for impound ment and 5 per day until the dog is claimed the pound is open from i pm to 2 pm and from 8 pm to 9 pm mondays to fridays and from 9 io ii am on saturdays it is closed on pickering township the daughter of the late james kayes and annie ham- brook besides her husband she is survived by a son kenneth petty rr2 gor- mley and daughters marj- orie mrs orval fretz ciaremont mild red thompson is deceased mr and mrs gostick came to stouffville 17 years ago from the 5th concession of pickering mrs gostick a member of the ciaremont baptist church was organist there for 16 years and also serv ed as choir leader she took an active interest in home and foreign mission work both in her own church and in the whitby- lindsay association where she served as director of mission circles at the time of her death she was honorary president of the ciaremont baptist mission circle and in charge of the monthly missionary news she was a member of the altona womens institute mrs charles gostick many will recall in years past the recitations she often gave at garden parties and community gatherings the funeral service was held in the ciaremont bap tist church on thursday june 22 conducted by rev dr h s hillycr the pall bearers were all nephews carl and lome michell owen alvin and lawrence gray and james thomson flower bearers were grandchildren karen su san anne and
