public schools in the area have been invited to participate in a centennial track and field meet in the stouffville memorial park organized by stouffville physical education instructor iary grundy under the chairmanship of keith sutherland it will be the first competition of its kind ever held here a tenta tive date of saturday june 17 has been set invitations have been sent out to the summit view annual event eight individual champions will be declared four girls and four boys trophies will go to the top juniors age 9 to 1u as of june 1 intermediate age 11 to 12 senior a age 13 to swimming skiing and softball as a spectator she enjoys attend ing hockey games especially ones in which her brother peter participates she loves horses and although the turner backyard would hardly has announced the appointment of john f johnston as superinten dent of ihe east central area of the oniario de partment of education formerly school inspector for the windsor area mr johnston succeeds j frank kinlin who was re cently named superinten dent curriculum division in his new capacity mr johnsion will be respons ible for ihe counties of york oniario durham and victoria as well as the
