announced to the students of stouff- ville district high school jan 1 by the principal mr v e duxbury they are special for this centennial year in addition to their tegular awards to students who place first and second in each class and a 100 bursary for a student in grade 13 work out details in order to qualify for one of the fne centennial awards a student must be enrolled in grade 11 12 or 13 at the stouffvillc district high school the following details hae been worked out by the high school staff in cooperation with mr g e marshall manufacturing manager at chesebroughponds in order to be eligible for an award the student must not have received more than sioo in bursaries and scholarships from other sources the awards will be gicr to students who apply themselves well to their day to day work have an achievement commensurate with their ability and dis play qualities of good citicnship announced at commencement mr duvbury emphasized that the awards ate not necessarily for the top students hut are for students who are working very hard and working consistently throughout the car mr marshall particularly liked the requirement of displacing qualifies of good citizenship as he annual toe alpha conference on alcohol problems was held at the park motor hotel niagara falls from december 27 to 30 1966 during the threeday gathcrry we had the pri- ilcge of listening to several wellinformed speakers one of these was thomas a knott director of youth work ontario temperance federation and father of toe alpha he stated among many things that todays pco pie have grasped the mys
