open house gathering at their home staff photo mr and mrs roy brillinger gormley couple wed 50 years four week honeymoon for 20 baker hill weve always been blessed with real good neighbors com mented eugene baker and his wife flora nodded a- greement throughout the living room of their farm home the signs of good neighbor- liness were everywhere in the form of lovely cards and beautiufl flowers it was just fifty years a- go dec 27 1916 that mr and mrs baker were mar ried and to mark the occa sion an open house gath ering was held at the bak er hill baptist church more than 150 attended in cluding the organist on their wedding day harriott brodie now mrs george quantz of aurora also present was will fockler of bloomington who at past 90 represents the kind of good neighbor that mr and mrs baker hold in such high regard large families both mr and mrs bak er came from large famil ies mr baker was one of eleven the son of seneca baker and esther milliken who lived at the present baker homesiead he at tended school at blooming- ton mrs baker the form er flora paisley is the dau ghter of wellington pais ley and elizabeth reesor she too had ten brothers and sisters she attended public union- ville rri and three brothers clarence and levi steckley of gormley and walter steckley of barrie one brother elmer is de ceased lovely gifts mr and mrs brillinger were remembered with lovely gifts dozens of cards and many beautiful bouquets of flowers includ ing a colourful floral centrepiece from their daughter velma in rhod esia they were most pleas ed to have as visitors on the occasion mr and mrs abram lehman of carlisle pennsylvania and mr oliver winger from kind- crsley saskatchewan the best man at the wedding mr clarence steckley of gormley was also present there was a twofold reason for thanksgiving at the brillinger home dec 27 twentyfive years ago mr brillinger was seri ously injured in an auto accident in toronto and spent two weeks in hospi tal a planned silver anni versary had to be cancell ed im better now than ever he said mrs brill inger also enjoys good health the tribune joins with riends in wishing this fine gormley couple many more years of health and happiness together mr and mrs o madill spent new years day at their daughters home mr and mrs roy law of rich mond hill mr and mrs norman fretz graham and gayle were visitors with dr and mrs m m matheson in sarnia during the christ mas holiday of the christian congrega tional church churchill the couple then travelled by horse and cutter to stouffville where they took the train on a honey moon trip to park hill north of london with the exception of one year their entire married life has been spent at their present farm residence two children to the couple was born two children a son clar ion at home and a daugh ter elaine mrs glenn fi- sner of windsor they have two grandchildren john and elizabeth mr baker has two bro thers oscar of welland morgan of king city and one sister mrs are invited for 1967 propose expansion at chesebroughponds a leading industry in markham celebrates its jtenth birthday in 1967 the chesebrough ponds company of canada built its plant in 1957 when the company relocated at that time the building was designed to be of sufficient size to allow for ten years normal business growth however due to several acquisitions in the past ten years in addition to nor mal growth space in the plant has become a prob lem revealed g e mar shall manufacturing man ager for the company mr marshall said that plans for expanding the plants facilities are being
