behind twice tues day night to defeat the wood ville maroons 54 in the fin al home game of the season at the arena bob wags who replaced chuck doyle between the pipes in the last period held off the hungry maroons when they pulled their goalie in fav our of an extra attacker the clippers had great chances to score in the first pe riod but were down 10 before pete reesor finally broke the ice earlier greg dunnet had the puck behind goalie barry snoden but it took a weird hop and rolled out again without crossing the red line reesor prior to scoring his goal hit the post with snodden a mile out of position ron bell took advantage of a stray pass in front of doyle and rapped in the first goal of the night woodville made it 21 early in the second period on a shot by bruce mccague that rang off the inside of the goal post and bounced in doyle made a spectacular effort on the play but the puck was out of his reach brown nets pair ross brown rapped in two fast goals to give stouffville the lead for the first time in the game brown ever on the alert for opposition errors was right in position when jim hood pas sed him the puck barry mclean back in the lineup after a two game ab sence tipped a dunnett pass in to the corner to make it 42 tor the homesters besides his goal mclean ad ded two assists to assure fans he hadnt lost any of his poten tial due to his shoulder injury doyle was struck in the face by a flying puck late in the se cond period on a scrambly play around the clipper net the shot that deflected off his fore head sent him to the ice and john johnson picked up the re bound and lobbed a backhand er high into the net subgoalie used bob wagg who hasnt played a shift with the clippers since december 15th dressed for the final period his worst fears of a player scoring on him on the first shot were real ized when tom lee tied the score at the 138 mark howev er wagg recovered from the momentary embarrassment ma king dazzling saves on numer ous attacks pete reesor fired his second goal of the night less than a minute after lee tied the game and the goal became the inevi table winner woodville drew their goalie at 1745 and as he was skating to the bench
