corner of kennedy rd and eglijiton avenue taxes were 36 the couple grew fruit and vegetables on their 10 acre plot of land had barns greenhouses sheds and numerous other buildings yet the farm was only taxed for s36 a year mr griffin who has been sell ing his wares since the age of 13 sold most of his produce at the east york market now the pres ent site of a sprawling 50 store shopping centre at the corner of victoria park and the danforth they lived on the farm for 35 years before moving to stouft vilie in 1933 mr and mrs griffin have two daughters mrs elsie thomas of scarboro and mrs harold mor- den of stouftvilie a granddaughter mrs al ayer resides in west hill the couple are both very much aware of vast changes in the area since the turn of the century you just have to take things as they come commented mrs griffin if someone in 1914 had told me there would be highways ex pressways freeways and thou sands upon thousands of cars in 1964 said mr griffin i would have
