pitchers battle on tuesday night in the longest marathon softball con test ever staged in the clare mont community league it was the second game in a cur rent playoff semifinal and goodwood emerged the winners by a score of 32 the series opener ended in a 11 tie they meet again on thursday to night may on the goodwood mound turned in his finest performance of the season fanning 33 men over the 16 inning distance he allowed only 4 hits bill maxwell on the hill for claremont also looked good he registered 19 strikeouts and gave up 8 hits seesaw battle after 9 innings the contest was deadlocked at 11 in the 15th goodwood moved out front 21 but claremont rallied to even the count again when it appear ed like the boys would go past the midnight hour goodwood pushed a man across the
