church basement the president mrs lloyd wide- man was in charge christmas carols were sung the program committee was mrs stewart wideman mrs robt paisley mrs robert stover and mrs jake grove the scripture was read by mrs j- grove and pra yer was by mrs stewart wide- man miss louie hoover mrs a hudson and mrs harry sto ver music was provided by mrs dave ratclitf and mrs neil conner a poem abiding gifts was read by mrs robert paisley miss gwen short a school teacher of north york told of her experiences while on a tour of france this past summer with a group of young people they were a real fairyland mrs helen dewitt joyce and mrs george leary of aur ora visited mrs j c steckley at her home in don mills on sunday prof steckley who has been in the scarboro general hospital the past few weeks has been transferred to the new riverdale hospital mr and mrs roy dowswell albert st n entertained the dowswell and williamson fam ily recently this included his parents mr and mrs arthur dowswell park rd n her pa rents mr and mrs russell dowswell of goodwood mr and mrs george dowswell and family of agincourt and miss es lillian jean and erma of toronto during the evening miss erma dowswell showed pictures she had taken while in the holy land this past sum mer the stouffville wi held their december meeting on wed 11th at 1230 pm at the home of their president mrs bruce davidson thirtyfive members and friends enjoyed a delicious pot luck luncheon mrs fl button and miss ger trude todd were two special guests throughout the years they have shown much interest in the work of the 30 voice choir of the markham united missionary church will present a christmas cantata entitled with shedherds kneeling mrs harold knights will be conducting the choir with mrs jack shepherd accompanying on the piano and mr jim mc dowell playing the hammond organ for the last few years the choir has presented a can tata on the sunday evening preceding christmas each year the church has to the cottage hospital uxbridge for several weeks will be spend ing christmas there master brian ravmer of box grove has been spending some holidays with his uncle and aunt mr and mrs frank bulk- lewis cadet chrlstmns tarty some hundred and fifty stouftville air cadets and their friends assembled at the legion hall on friday evening for the squadrons annual christmas party during the program pres entations were made to former officers harry heatherington and william kingston for their service to the cadet group mr ray worley chairman of the civilian committee made the presentations a
