afternoon oct 19th mr and mrs russeil morden of vivian will cele brate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house gathering from 2 to 4 pm residents in the vivian community for a period of 20 jears the couple is well known and both enjoy good health mr morden is 76 mrs morden is 73 mr morden was born in stouffville one of a large fam ily of twelve and the son of the late frank morden and iitemdia pennock he has farmed most of his life at dub lin ontario and vivian but is now retired mrs morden the forme- mary sheperdson was born at clarcmont the daughter of the late william sheperdson and mary hood they were married in toron to on oct 16th 1913 and later travelled by train on a honey moon trip to pcterboro on their return they took up res idence at downsview and later farmed at woodbridge dublin and vivian their former vivi an property is now owned by mr fred ross mr and mrs morden have 1 in their family three daugh ters ilean mrs winfred card and edna mrs harold clein- year she had been in declining health the past six months born in pickering twp she was a daughter of the late henry barkey and nancy lehman in 1910 her 1st husband hartley burton pre deceased her and in 1917 she married howard c lehman and had been a resident of delhi the past 17 years be sides her husband she is sur vived by a son arthur burton lowbank ont and a daughter miriam mrs edward wall ot clinton n y four grandchil dren and nine great grand children a son alfred burton is deceased also two sisters one being mrs jake mcmuilen stouffville surviving also is a stepson wilfred lehman of the past two months and was in her 7sth year born near utica she was a daughter of the late- mr and mrs john w taun who later resided on albert st stouffville in 1910 she married david w crosier they lived for a time at manchester ar ound 12 years ago they retired lo their home on market st in 1960 they celebrated their gol den wedding anniversary mrs crosier was a life mem ber of altona institute and a leader in the girls 4h club work for fourteen years she was a member of the united church and took an interest in lire work of the church she is survived by her hus band and three daughters mary familiar figure in stouffville on friday oct 11th mr alfred ross fockler of ring- wood and a familiar figure in stouffville passed away in the stouffville nursing home fol lowing a stroke he was 71 the deceased was born at ballantrae one in a large fami ly of 11 he was the son of the late hugh and melinda fockler although much of his life was spent in this area he farm ed for 17 years at stoney beech saskatchewan mr fockler was wellknown throughout the stouffville community and would hitch hike almost daily into town while his health permitted it was during a visit to mussel- mans lake in july that he suffered a minor stroke he appeared to be making a satis factory recovery when stricken for a second time last week the funeral service on sun day was largely attended and the oneill
