more than eignty friends and lamuy relatives called at their home and on saturday the occasion was ex tended to include 46 more many lrom distant cerrres mr and mrs degeer were married in stouftvilie in 1913 the groom the son of the iate mr and mrs eiias degeer arove into town from his home near musselmans lake by horse and buggy and their honeymoon trip consisted of a tnreeaay visit witn his pai- ents at bloomington mrs degeer tne former eliz abeth bailey was born in eng land she attended pubuc icnool up to the age ol nine years and then went out to work prior to her marriage she jived at tne home of uie late jake wideman mongolia in 1919 the couple moved to michigan where mr degeer worked on the grand trunk railway they returned lu stoutiville in 1960 mr degeer is still an ardent hunter and fisherman they attend the stoutiville united missionary church regularly mr ana mrs degeer had four children a daughter mrs elsie sitcer resides in flint michigan and a son edwaru lives at st jonns michigan two other sons dougias and dennis are deceased tney have 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren mrs degeer has one sister mrs faye winters of durand michigan mr de geer has a brother morgan at mount albert the couple received close to 100 cards including one from new zealand and another from california mr degeer gave his wife a beautiful silver tea service both enjoy good son of mr and mrs neil patrick also of stoultville were united in marriage rev d davis assisted by rev a borland officiated at the ceremony given in marriage by her father the bride wore a traditi onal white gown with lace bod ice full skirt of nylon organza over satin and a shoulder jength veil she carried white roses carnations and white feathered shasta mums matron of honour joni watts and bridesmaids beverly rob erts sister of the bride and sharon clein cousin of the bride were dressed in coral peau de soie satin with match ing shoes and white accessories they carried white glads and tiny yellow mums the soloist miss hilda sinclair of don mills sang love divine and the twentythird psalm mrs chas nolan was the organist ernie abraham jr was the best man and ron patrick and dave watts the ushers for the reception at watts restaurant lawrence and markham rds the brides mother chose a beige brocade jacket dress cranberry red hat and black accessories the grooms mother chose a sincere gratitude of the members of the ucw to all who had contributed to an outstanding program and pre sented rev george peck with an envelope the contents of which were to help along his most worthwhile work that of christian witness and bringing the gospel to these people who live one thousand miles north of stouftville rev borland pronounced the benediction following the service the members of mrs mercers unit no 2 served junch from table beautifully decorated visitors with mr and mrs h degeer to help celebrate their fiftieth wedding annivers ary on saturday and over the weekend were their son ed and mrs degeer and jackie of st johns mich their daughter elsie mrs sitcer and her daughter kay mrs fred glom- son and her daughter debbie another granddaughter mrs don richmond and her hus band and 3 children of flint mich mr degecrs brother mr and mrs morgan degeer and mr and mrs ivan degeer and son of mt albert mrs fleda lyons and douglas of toronto their friends mr and mrs
