committee opened on mon day july 9th with a registra tion of 60 boys and girls mrs helen vizely is the instruc tress again this year asitcd by mrs marie neal who also holds a swimming and lifesav- ing red cross certificate the enrollment is especially large in the beginners and junior groups generous donations to lui tner this project have been received by the scout and cub mothers iia the guide and brownie mothers la the legion the ladies auxiliary the womens institute the masonic lodge and the claremont school board further donations would be gratefully accepted they should be submitted to crash lands escapes uninjured a pickering township man escaped injury late sunday af ternoon when the home made airplae of which he was pilot made a forced landing guy labine 30 flew from airplane of which he was pilot owned by jack charlton king street cast oshawa labine sole occupant brought the ma chine down in an oat field near the pickeringwhitby town lin south of the baseline road pickering township police of ficers said that it appeared that the engine was cutting out and labine decided to make a forced landing the airplane hit a bump in the oat field and nosed in to the ground the
