sixtlt line from the stouffville-gorm- ley townline north to the aur ora sideroad we have divided this area into four blocks each of which has a representative to deal with any situations which might arise these four representatives are mr h sandiford mr c manehee mr t lang and mr m macfar- lane we are here tonight to again point out to council the danger ous condition of the hills and road in the two blocks north from the bloomington sideroad mr lang made a serious pro test to the council last october and since that time some work has been done hcvcver we feel that the work to date has not been sufficient to relieve the dangerous condition of these hills and with winter fast ap proaching they will be even more treacherous most espec ially the fear that a child going to or from school would have little chance of escaping injury or even death should they hap pen to be on the hills when a gravel truck or other vehicles were passing we wish to protest the reck less use of this road by gravel trucks they are increasing steadily and have caused excess- goodwood mrs r may mr john reid is renewing friendships in goodwood and attended the anniversary serv ices of the united church mr met them at the airport on sunday mr and mrs john may took mr and mrs wm may to visit her sister mrs wm sinclair of cherrywood on sunday ive damage to the roadbed north of the vandorf sideroad we would like to know from council what stops council is taking to maintain an adequate roadbed particularly on the stretch of the sixth which is now broken up so badly by the tremendous weight of trucks that there is a constant danger of drivers losing control of their vehicles as recently as this morning one ratepayer follow ing the grader nearly went off the road because of the soft yielding condition of the road if council is going to permit gravel trucks to use these roads to the detriment of the residents and roads alike then council must find some means of mak ing these same trucks and gra vel pit operators pay for the damage involved the hillcrest ratepayers as sociation have always made a point of expressing apprecia tion to council and the roads superintendent and his depart ment for the fine work they have done in the past under diffi cult conditions we wish gentlemen that you will give this brief your care ful and serious consideration and action respectfully submitted
