complaint sub mitted through councillor clif ford laycox to pickering town ship council concerning in efficiencies in the pickering police department will be pass ed on to the police commission for further study this action was taken on monday night after a west rouge ratepayer andy dande criticized the oper ation of the force when they were summoned to his golf course premises on several oc casions the most recent incident ac cording to mr dandes letter involved a lady stricken with a heart attack he claimed that four officers in two cruisers ar rived on the scene without a doctor ambulance or oxygen and stood around while she died he charged that with lis- mediate medical attention her life might possibly have been spared he charged further that in sending two cars and four men the remaining portion of the municipality was left un protected in addition he said that an investigation had been carried out on his property with out a search warrant and in an other instance he had been im properly charged and the offi cer in question had perjured himself on the stand in court he claims he cannot get any cooperation from the police and as one of the townships largest taxpayers he should de serve some service said coun cillor laycox whether hes the largest or the smallest taxpayer in the municipality is not important said reeve sherman scott the police should be interested in protecting everyone the reeve said that he had asked mr dande to address his re marks in writing to the police commission but he had refused if he will not file his com plaints to the commission i will not bring them up he said hes worn a path to my door commented councillor laycox he noted that it was not un common for children to play ball on his golf greens and use the flag for home plate mr laycox said that according to mr dande the police had been called but they did not arrive reeve scott noted that in ref erence to the suggested perjury charge mr dande had been given the opportunity to lay charges against the officer but he declined to take this action councillor milton mowbray suggested that two letters sub mitted by mr dande through councillor laycox should be sary committee states there will be an evening devotional service commencing at 7 pm on sunday july 2 at the clare mont conservation area it wil be in a setting of rolling hills to form a natural amphitheatre the anniversary choir will consist of ten representatives from each church in pickering township and the village with mr allan clark as director of music also young voices from the pickering high school choh will render two selections that have been giving pleasure to people for generations at the beginning of the service the choir will sing favourite gospel hymns followed by a speaker the committee is trying to obtain an old organ which has to be cranked it would serve as a very useful antique and also hydro lines would not have to be installed to operate an elec tric
