nursing course for the ladies of the community in july the summer bible school went on as usual and an eve ning class covering a survey of the old testament was held for the young people mr al- sasser left cedar grove in aug ust to take a church near ban croft and we learned that lome burkholdcr was with the dept of indian affairs in the very far north teaching 35 indian children the year closed in the mcnnonitc church with a special christmas service held in the church on christmas night at zlon forty sunday school teachers attended the teachers training school early in the year and it was considered a highly successful event in april a new minister was welcomed by the congregation and mr chas milton scottish accent and all became an important part of zion church anniversary ser vices were held and the sunday school picnic and the year end ed with a white gift service and a delightful christmas con cert it was a busy year for mrs smith and ss no 20 we were short grades 5 and s this year but despite the absence of older pupils the school gain ed distinction at markham fair held a happy halloween party and a truly beautiful musical concert to celebrate christmas wc were very proud
