liquor and for creating a disturbance at mark- hame fair rudolph berts john bies and martin hoogstein paid a total of 190 and costs when they appeared before magistrate hollinrake in court on monday according to the evidence constable darrell dewar of markham village stated the pol ice were called to a fight in the markham fair grounds where hoogstein was engaged in a brawl a second call picked birth of a baby the girls volleyball team is being formed and there are many good players from grade nine even though this is their first year playing volleyball on tuesday our football team was defeated by markham but they certainly made markham work hard for their victory jocelyn button 6th line whitchurch we are glad to hear that mr j a clarke is recovering nicely from the operation he under went at the toronto general hospital last week mrs clarke is at present staying with her daughter mrs donald mover in toronto mrs david ratcliff attended the graduation ceremonies of the canadian school of practi cal nursing held in carlton st united church when her mother mrs fred byer of stouffville received her diploma mrs byer is now employed at the york county hospital newmarket mr and mrs charles manchee celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on saturday by having dinner with mr and mrs wm trimble of agincourt at the four winds restaurant miss rita nicely of london ont was visiting at home last week mr and mrs ernest ladd of syracuse ny visited mr and mrs bruce clarke on sunday mr ben harper and dianne of niagara falls stayed with mr and mrs harry pugh on the
