that the township solic itor mr jd lucas should be permitted to take the necessary steps in order that a municipal ity might be granted some con trol over the licensing and regu lating of bathing beaches at the present time such legislation does not exist a coroners jury recommend ed that whitchurch twp coun cil should have some control ov er beaches in the municipality following an inquest conducted at vandorf on sept 16th into the drowning death of an eightyear old boy at shadow lake this matter should be follow ed up and kept alive stated reeve richardson if there is anything we can do i think we should do it are we supposed to act as watch dogs and parents for ev ery child that uses our lakes questioned councillor mrs elsie glbb it will take the responsibility off our shoulders replied reeve richardson clerk john crawford inform ed the members that the present act was not explicit he noted that at shadow lake there is an admission charge to the park hut not specifically to the water people go on picnics to these parks because water is avail able stated councillor mrs gibb the reeve agreed coun cillor mrs gibb suggested that other municipalities should en deavour to enforce a similar law rev elwood mclean will speak at claremont church a special meeting of the womens mission circle will be held in the claremont baptist church on tuesday evening at eight oclock
