stouffville was the scene of a happy celebration on tuesday dec 23rd when mr and mrs charles badgero of mussel- mans lake marked their 50th wedding anniversary more than fifty visitors attended the open house to honour the wellknown and highly respected couple a huge 3tiered cake baked and decorated for the occasion by mrs chester graham of bethes- da adorned the living room ta ble mr and mrs badgero were the recipients of many beauti ful gifts and bouquets of flow- er mrs badgero was born in uxbridge township the daugh ter of john and regina cook she attended the siloam public school mr badgero was born at island lake the son of hen ry and margaretann badgero in 1908 the couple were united in marriage the ceremony was conducted by rev moore in the united church parsonage at stouffville the happy couple left by train for a honeymoon trip to collingwood and mea- ford on their return they took up residence on the badgero farm near island lake mr and mrs badgero have never left the immediate dist rict they resided on the badg ero homestead for 23 years and later took up residence on the 10th cone south of stouffville prior to moving to musselmans lake they lived in stouffville for a short time mr badgero is 76 mrs badgero is 72 to the couple were born three sons john and harold of stouff ville and frank of scarboro mr badgero has one sister mrs annie boadvvin of newmarket they have five grandchildren she was an attendant at the wedding fifty years ago she was present at the anniversary on tuesday other friends and relatives attended from wood- bridge
