lifelong resident mrs c milsted marilyn heise have completed another a7t i j l their rn course and are both dttorfmr thelr passed away late friday afternoon at gormley nursing home in her 95th year mrs sider nee lou isa oxendale was born in tor onto on feb 1 1864 the family later settled at bethesda she attended school at bethesda where the late mr isaac pike was her teacher mr pike later taught several of her family she was converted at the age of ten and for seventynine years was a member of the brethren in christ church at heise hill she was very active in church work and taught sunday school for many years on june 30 18s6 she was united in marriage with mr asa sider who predeceased her on august 7 1944 mr and mrs sider farmed for years on the emprlngham farm and also the moran farm at bethesda about fifty years ago they moved to gormley where mr and mrs corfield now live in 1940 they moved to stouffville mrs sider is survived by the following family sarah mrs dent law of stouffville john of gormley anna mrs j dewsburv of rich mond hill mabel mrs win timbers of stouffville lydia mrs fred hill of long branch twin sons peter of willowdale and joseph of stouffville and levi of vancouver levi was not present at the funeral but he had visited his mother this summer one daughter mary mrs seth wideman of gormley and one ion wesley of detroit died quite a number of years ago and one son alfred died in infancy thirtysix grandchild ren fifty greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat grandchild also survive about twenty years ago mrs sider was quite ill with ft heart i condition since that time she horned mr and mrs allen heise and mr and mrs roy nigh returned on sunday afternoon from a pleasant trip to western can ada- mrs j t johnson spent a week with her brotherinlaw and sister mr and mrs frank thompson in toronto rev and mrs lawtence beck and family of moosonee visited mr and mrs robt beck last week the becks were down for the pentecostal church confer ence in toronto miss jean brillinger has been quite ill with poison ivy mrs henry steckley suffered a fall and was under the doc tors care mr lloyd wideman of tor onto son of mr seth wideman has been quite ill with a liver infection mrs bruce and genevieve visited on sunday with miss vina wilson of toronto mr leon schlicter of tor onto spent the weekend with mr and mrs harrison schlic ter mr ted jones left on monday night for minneapolis where he will be taking a three years bible course at bethany fellow ship airs g harman spent a week in sft catharines due to the ill ness of her daughterinlaw there rev willis hunking left on thursday night for the states where he will be doing mission ary deputation work for five weeks mr and mrs chas boynton and ellen of thornhill had sun day dinner with mr and mrs albert leek mr and mrs lawrence boyn- mm ton and patsy mrs bovair and enjoyed exceirentneaith j h glen major miss mabel baker of water- down spent a few days last week with hip her mind was very- keen she had all her faculties and could sew without glasses just before she fell she cut out the pattern for a new dress for herself her family later finish ed it and she wore it for her burial she loved to talk of olden times and had a wonder ful memory for all her old friends and neighbours she often spoke of being prepared to die and one of her favourite hymns was if jesus should come id welcome his call from on high when she broke her hip she was taken to newmarket hos pital where they operated and pinned her hip she was later removed to gormley rest home mrs sider was resting at o neills funeral parlours stouff ville- until sunday noon the funeral service was held at heise hill at 230 pm sunday with interment at the cemetery there bishop alvin winger spoke from the text lettest now thy servant depart in peace he was assisted by rev j r steckley and rev wm vanderbent who read a very appropriate poem the hender son sisters sang beyond the sunset and safe within the veil six grandsons were pall bearers theodore and walter wideman harold sider bruce sider bob timbers and neil hill the church was well filled thus closes another chapter on one of our early residents one of mrs siders last remarks was hallelujah im going home mrs v newmann entertained on saturday in honour of her mothers 82nd birthday misses reatha steckley and the powder puff
