saturday last the ladies aid held their an nual christmas meeting at the home of mrs d shank on wed nesday of last week under the leadership of the president mrs a pearse many familiar carols were sung followed by some appropriate games and contests which were enjoyed by all pres ent at the end of the program gifts were distributed the annual meeting of the ontario county soil and crop improvement association was held in the legion hall at ux bridge on friday dec 6 with approximately 120 farmers in at tendance the meeting started at 1045 am with president mur ray holtby in charge reports of the various projects as carried out in 1957 were dis cussed by h l fair sidney macdonald and the various co- operators who took part in the different tests and demonstra tions during the year a very interesting program was earned out during the year ninetynine different farmers took some active part in a crop improvement project this year these tests and demonstrations were carried out on a total of 119 acres ted lamb cannington gave an interesting report on the jr farmer soil conservation and land use tour that was held in september of this year ken fallis of the field crops
