corners unit ed church on august 11th sun day school will be held at 10 am and a joint church service will commence at 11 oclock browns corners minister preaches for call possibly the most difficult times in the life of a united church minister are those when he faces a strange congregation to preach for a call the utmost tact and understanding are re quired on the part of the con gregation and an almost total lack of pride on the ministers side if these occasions are to be reasonably pleasant surely in the christian church today there must be a way of hand ling a delicate situation without infringing on the rights of either the congregation or the minister involved on sunday morning of this week the reverend george cook of manitoba preached for a call in victoria square united chu rch the service was well attend ed and although a meeting to consider calling mr cook had been previously announced for sunday august 4th at headford if was felt that with such a good number of interested there was a day when the care or lack of care given a pet was the concern of the owner and his alone but today there are agencies which interest themselves in the welfare of animals and take action if they are neglected if pet owners are away through the day it is easy to forget that a pet can become dangerously lacking in water and shade in the hot part of the day the neighbours however see things
