passed away on wednesday april 17 1957 mrs paisley for over twenty years has taught at the ballantrae sunday school and was also a devoted member of the wa she has been ailing for over a year and will be sadly missed by her friends neigh bors and children after reading in the mussel- mans lake column of a letter for accommodation sent to vern davies from the land of iraq we thought you would like to read of a letter from a mr victor yalla amalapuram eg dt s india mr yalla picked up the stouffville tribune in library in his home town and from this obtained the name and address of mrs j paterson under the ballantrae news mr yalla enclosed a beautiful crocheted ce doily in his letter he was hoping to get orders for tablecloths bedspreads runners etc for his mother whose hus band is dead and who is very poor starting with the year 1955 the yalla family have suffered hardships in trying to keep a home they were burnt out in this year after erecting another house it was destroyed by a cyclone in 1947 and another home damaged by floods from the river godanary in 1953 mr yalla wrote a very interesting letter which spoke of the climatic conditions there their need for gospel training but most of all their need for money if there are any associations wishing to help this family mrs paterson will be only too pleased to show anyone the doily and also the letter mr yalla is will ing to send a package of his mothers work to those interest ed keep in mind the polio shots this friday april 26 at the bal lantrae school for all preschool children or those who missed their shots at school remember also that shots will be provided for all those in the vivian bloomington and lemonville area time 9 am a to k 1030 am l to z there will be a euchre at the ballantrae school on friday april 26 starting at 830 pm sharp we believe this is to be the last of the season so lets make it the biggest yet cake and icecream is on the refresh ment list another night to remember is wednesday may 1st at s oclock the ballantrae wa are having their may meeting in the evening and have invited lemonville and bethesda wa all ballantrae members are to provide refreshments while visiting with lorraine radford on saturday we were pleased to hear their son young brad went on a trip to mon treal with his grandparents mr and mrs payment of cherry st may we wish a pleasant bon voyage to mr and mrs bob radford sr who left the stouff ville station at 7 pm on mon- i day which will start thea on their way to england mr rad- iford tells us he intends to visit ireland scotland and paris this year the radfords will not be returning until august tony who was eight and michelle rogers who was five last week had a joint birthday party on wednesday april 17th with sixteen little friends present marsha henderson who was also eight on friday april 19th ihad eight little friends to help her celebrate although we wished barbara i hineman many happy returns ion april 2nd apparently we were 20 days too early as bar- bara was fourteen on sundav april 22nd the film night was very successful although there wasnt too many parents there was a good turnout of children we were pleased to have mr and mrs roy fockler of vivian visit us a big thank you to mr herbert and mr grove for tak ing time out of their easter holidays to run the projector we see that mr and mrs crow- hurst are taking advantage of the holidays to get the floors at the school in shape they also took in the film night the home and school wish to thank those who attended and hope to have another film night in the near future- little miss elaine and master david children of mr and mrs e burton of barrie are spend ing their easter holidays with their grandparents mr and mrs c n perkins remember this saturday april 27th the cubs and scouts are having their paper drive starting at 130 we see mrs g andrews is home from the hospital but still taking it easy mr j mcdermott is back to work but sorry to re port that mr t cartwright is back in the hospital mr and mrs a r mclennan of sudbury ard mr ard mrs king garam of toronto were sunday guests of mr and mrs rod mclennaii mr king ganara has a very interesting program of old time music on tv mrs f buffham of syracuse kew york is spending a weeks vacation with her parents mr and mrs rod mclennan mrs f markham her daugh ter barbara along with bar baras fiance mr stan kerr of nova scotia who will be taking their marriage vows next satur day are vacationing with mr alex mclennan miss markham was miss toronto 1954 lois and bob radford no doubt had a pleasant weekend lois mother and father were down from frankford ont and her sister olive along with her family frcm murdoc ont little linda isnt enjoying her easter holiday she has come down with the welcome wms church service the annual wms church service will be held in the vic toria square united church on sunday april 28th at 230 pm the guest speaker will be dr winifred bryce the explorers and
