doner son of mr and mrs earl doner stouffville marriage to take place dec 29th at their home a trihute to mrs ada lee contributed a feeling of great sadress came to the people of stouffville last wednesday when it was learned that mrs geo lee had entered into rest in the eternal beyond although her immed iate relatives knew that she was not enjoying the best of health the general public was unaware of it and it was a distinct shock to her many friends when the news of her passing became known mrs lee was so universally loved and esteemed that her de parture from this life was deep ly regretted by everyone who knew her no woman in stouff ville has given so much time to church work and community work and every service was per formed so willingly and cheer fully that it was a pleasure to work with her she never spared herself her whole life seemed to be lived for others of course she loved her home and was a loving wife and her home came first but her unself ish devotion to those societies and organizations in which she found full and free vent for those natural talents that made her such a valuable member will never be forgotten ada lee always met her friends with that quiet smile that meant so much for behind that smile was that glowing vital spiritual influence called christianity it dominated her whole life and it was that vital glowing thing that gave her such a grip on the hearts and minds and souls of the people with whom she came in contact when we think of her quiet yet useful life we are reminded of the words of the poet who wrote true worth is in being not seeming in doing each day that goes by some little good not in the dreaming of great things to do bye and bye for whatever men say in their blindness and spite of the fancies of youth theres nothing so kingly as kindness and nothing so royal as truth mrs ada lee combined these two qualifications of kindness and truth in every act in her life she was a true christian and used her life to shelter oth ers and to help others to be an example by following the exam ple set by our lord and saviour jesus christ the loss of her husband geo lee in the year 1953 was a loss she felt very keenly for theirs was an ideal and happy life together selfrespecting and wholesome and there is one thing we should always try to remember in seasons like this that death cannot rob us of our the necessary to bring his car to a complete halt when his visi bility was completely cut off happy memories neither can it take away that rich store of ex perience of health and opportun ity and the intimate associa tions of family and friends death has no dominion over fine memories and influences for good to say this is to speak a truth that can help in the mitigation of our sorrows but to stop there would be to leave a greater word unsaid and it is this that the art of mastering bereavement is to be found ul timately in the christian faith this is the victory which over- cometh the world even our faith and it is by faith that we can believe that they who pass from our sight pass into a friendly world where the marks of their personality are retain ed where in the mercy and pro vidence of god there is a place prepared for those that love him it is that faith that lets us lay our loved ones away grate ful for the years we have had with them confident in the knowledge that christ will lead them on for by his own victory he has become the firstfruits of them that sleep the many friends who visited the funeral chapel and the many beautiful floral off erings were mute but expressive
