The meeting was not open to the Prew. but the gathering is said to have been both representative and enthusiastic. It was decided to make the membership « fee 50 cents and 2 strong effort will'be made to bring every public school teacher in the county into the organization, which is called "The Simeot Teachers' Federation." The following are the sims of the Federstion und the schedule of sal- aries submitted and adopted :-- AIMS--(1) To promote and safeguard the interests of Ontario Public School Teachers; To associate and unite the teachers of the Province; To se- cure conditions essential to the best profesional service; To secure a proper remuneration for teachers' services; To secure proper understanding and direct co-operation between Trustees, Bosrds of Education and the teachers in all matters in which they are mutually concerned; To secure a larger voice in educational affairs for teachers both locally and throughout the Province ; To foster a professional etiquette among the members of the profession; To bring about the affiliation of similar organizations, not only in the Province but in the Dominion.
