HI SPORTS TYPE Falcons Fumbied With Little Help For the sake of couple of hundred hockey fans this column is not surrounded by thick black bor der The black would have been sarcastic way of slaying to paraphrase Leo Durocher The Falcons is cad Because Falconsand Barrie do hate honestto goodness supporters just couldnt get carried away HoweVer ta for granted the border is there for those pseudo fans who followed the club when it was winning and knew all the answers from any where ut the arena when it was losing UNHEALTHY BREEZE Yesterday afternoons game at Barrie Arena was bit of blow for many reasons Falcons for one played better in nothing game than in many im portant contests The blame here belongs on the usual fellowship of about six that played the entire season as though just out for skate These guys wasted lot of energy looking good at the final cur tain foul breeze blew in the dying seconds of the game as Meatord gave the puck to Barrie to break the 66 tie Neither side wanted tie meaning 10 minutes of overtime but it was disgrace the way the decision 76 was reached SILVER LINING But every cloud has its silver lining For instance Falcons best hockey player day in and day out Al Smith scored his 20th goal of the season it just couldnt have happened to more deserving fellow it was the end of rough season for coach Paul Meger He deserves rest from so many questionable efforts on the part of that above mentioned fellow ship Paul was always full of praise for Falcons when they won Hes never been known to drop bombs when the club lost Keetch of Donald Street was the lucky win ner of Eulova watch donated by Reeves Jewellers of Barrie This shop has always boosted major hockey in Barrie in this fashion in the clubs booster draw Romney of Bowman Avenue won $50 and Bernie Sharek of Cumberland Street won $25 Further draws throughout the year will be made during the third week of the month at professional wrestling cards at the arena AND BITS MORE book to
