scored three goals to lead the Thunder Bay Twins to 53 win over the Bar rie Flyers Saturday at the Bar rie Arena in the Ontario Senior Hockey League The Flyers led 21 after the first period but the Twins rallied to lead 32 after the se cond period The Twins outscored the Flyers 21 in the final period The Flyers were impressive in the first period outhitting and outskating the Ivins The Flyers carried the play to the Twins and for most of the period controlled the puck in the visitors end 10 LEAD Bob Baird gave Barrie an early 10 lead when he scored unassisted at 156 Baird in tercepted clearing pass just inside the blueline and moved in all alone on the Twins net He fired high wrist shot to the top left comer and easily beat goalie Steve Rexe The Flyers were guilty of some sloppy defensive play just past the 10 minute mark in the first period The Twim manag ed to keep Barrie pinned in their own end The Flyers were unable to clear the puck and the Twins got several shots on net ged Peter Reino orts Hustlers 96 Sunda ternoon at Barrie Nort Collegiate In the consolation championship Garner Sports blanked OxyWeld 170 It was our defence that won the game for us said Leo McBride playercoach for Robertos McBride said the receivers dropped passes and the defence held the Hustlers in check Jim MacPherson came up with the big defensive play of the game when he tipped pass away from Doug McCann late in the game SECONDS With only seconds remaining in the game Jim McCann Hustlers quarterback threw long bomb to Dou McCann The receiver had aten the defender and was on his way for touchdown MacPherson came from the other side of the field and made dive to tip the ball out of the receivers hands It was the throwing arm of Larry Powell Roberto quarter back that kept the
