rison for the death of one of our girls killed in church bombing 14 years ago that em bittered the civil rights move ment of the time State AttorneyGeneral Bill Baxley who prosecuted the case told re rters after the verdict that mbliss was the leader of group involved in the bombing and more in dictments are likely The bombing occurred on Sunday morning Sept 15 1963 after several months in which the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church had been used by the late Dr Martin Luther King Jr as headquarters for civil rights demonstrations King was ab sent thatday The girls all of them black were in basement changing into choir robes when dyna miteofficials said it may have been 15 sticksexploded in nearby outside stairwell The bombing was one of about 50 that rocked Birming ham in the late 19505 ince is withholding its rent pay ments on the Thunder Bay courthouse until the owner un dertakes certain repairs George McCague minister of government services told the legislature Friday In reply to
