Our diets disaster nutrition authority says By RUDLEIGH MCLEAN Examiner Staff Reporter Emotional illnesses and poor nutrition are closely connected says Dr Emanuel Cheraskin professor of oral medicine literally eaten themselves into emo tional and menal illnesses but Dr Cheraskin says people also have the capability to eat themselves out of these psychological problems Diet is linked to enzymatic hormonal and biochemical ac tivityall of which are inter related The root of mental il lnesses often originates with the diet Dr Cheraskin said Throu exhaustive series of testsa studies Dr Cheraskin has hypothesized that pie with fewer psychologica com plaints consume higher mounts of niacin iron iodine phosphorus and Vitamin As well he believes fat intake is higher for people who do not ex hibit psychological complaints which is contrary to commonly held beliefs Furthermore Dr Cheraskin said his studies proved that people who go on crash diets are more rone to suffer emo tional lnesses
