Dallas to victory over Flyers By SCOTT HASKINS Examiner Sports Writer Bruce Boudreau may be small but what he lacks in size he more than makes up for in desire and effort The young centreman scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Dallas Black Hawks of the Central Hockey League to 62 win over the Barrie Fl ers in an exhibition game nesday at the Barrie Arena Steve Cripps general mana er of the Flyers was wor ried ut Boudreau before the first puck was dropped He is very good Cripps said In our exhibition game against them last season he scored five goals The game had all the mark ings of rough contest but it didnt materialize In two vious meetings with teams rom the Ontario Hockey Association Senior Hockey league fights had been pro minent part of the games There were only nine penalties called all of them minors The two teams were tied 11 at the end of the first period Dallas took 21 lead in the se cond period and then outscored the Flyers 41 in the final frame Des ite the loss Gord Coates presi ent of the club was happy iévdith the way his team perform Im happy with the overall performance of the team Coates said would have liked to win but dont forget those guys are on the ice four hours day Dallas was pressing for the first 10 minutes but the goaltending of Ernie Miller kept it scoreless until Wa ne King gave Barrie 10 lea at the 1400 mark of the period King fed pass back to Terry Agnew at the point His shot was stopped by Dallas goal tender Rick Szabo but the puck rolled through his legs and King tapped it into the open net Boudreau tied the score oou le minutes later as Kurt Wa er carried the puck to the Barrie blue line before passing if to Boudreau He made no mistake as he rifled hard slap shot to the far corner of the net The second period turned into goaltending duel between Miller and Szabo Each goaltender made numerous key saves in the period Alain Bouchard ave Dallas 21 lead with less minute gone in the period Boudreau stole the puck from the Barrie defence and fed it to Bouchard He was all alone in the slot and rifled shot through Millers legs Barrie had its chances to tie the score but the goaltending of Szabo combined with some erratic shooting kept the Flyers off the scoreboard Jack Smith brought the loud est cheer of the night late in the period when he sent Toronto Ma le Leaf farmhand Kurt Wa ker crashing into the boards with perfect hicheck Barrie pla ed the entire game with three defence men and it took its toll in the third period when Dallas wrap ped in three goals in the first our minutes It certainly
