The Examiner has learned However Hydro officials plan to continue with scheduled studies and public consulta tion for selection of site for the station to be located somewhere in northern Barrie or the adjoining portion of Vespra Township The station will be needed to supplement the capacity of transformer station on Tif fin Street which had been expected to reach its capacity in 1980 Latest information however shows that the Tiffin Street station will be adequate until 1981 and Hydro officials have delayed com pletion date of the new station to avoid mak ing capital expenditures before necessary Meanwhile Hydro and provincial environ ment ministry personnel are working on selection of possible sites based on en vironmental engineering and financial con siderations and are expected to narrow the choice to three sites in August or September Comments on the sites will be requested from various interest groups and members of the public Hydro officials expect little opposition to the station because it will be lowprofile landscaped building causing little disruption and will serve local needs rather than faroff power users Officials tentatively hope to build the sta tion close to an existing 230000volt transmis sion line running from southwest to northeast through the study area Provincial police officers shot man in selfdefence BRACEBRIDGE Ont CP coroners jury cleared two
