especially by providing more French schools While the paper said the government believes all Canadians should have the right to send their children to school in either official language Quebec has the right to limit access temporarily to English schools because of threats to the French language in that province Legislation before the Quebec national assembly would prevent all new residents of the province from attending English schools Prime Minister Trudeau earlier had at tacked the bill for trying to limit enrolment in English schools Speaking to reporters Roberts said once the threat to the French language disappeared freedom of choice should be reinstated in Quebec Progressive Conservative Leader Joe Clark said in the Commons that Parliament has no authority to guarantee freedom of
