while Jerry Krul and Ruth Cowan won pickup trucks There were several prizes of $25 awarded Sunday Stroud Presbyterian Church celebrated the 68th an niversary of its present building Rev James Crabb of Peterborough was guest speaker Following the service Rev an Mrs Crabb renewed old friendships Special music was selected for the anniversary under the direction of Mrs Robert Cowan The choir performed three anthems during the morn ing service and there were solos by Heather Cowan and Mrs Duncan Campbell in the evening Mr and mrs Gordon Cowan each sang special solo selections Socials Mr and Mrs Harry Arkley of London were the guests of Mr and Mrs John Cowan Mr and Mrs Tom Bentley artist Msiifarllyllrlteykoi Lonchn were the guests of Mr and Mrs John Cowan Mr and Mrs Tom Bentley and Mark minute change in location At 10 am the club was in formed the meeting in the com munity hall would have to be cancelled because of water pro blems The club executive and social committee were able to move the dinner to the Masonic Lodge Over 50 members sat down to dinner at 1230 with the table decorated with flags and special place mats The pro gram committee had arranged for contests history of Vic toria Day and music by school children There was special toast to the Queen The special guest for the event was Mrs Moyscy and summer student who were shown the display of crafts made by members Frank Cowan was celebrat ing his birthday that day and was specially honored Euchre Knock Community Echres closed with 15 tables in play Tuesday evening All score cards had been kept and there were numerous draws Euchre will resume in the fall Mrs Downing 7286614 Visitors Mr and Mrs Juitema had her sister from Windsor visited them on the weekend 4H The Garden Club has got off to good start They have chosen the name The Holly Green Thumbs President is Kristine Little vicepresident and press reporter is Cathie Kenwill secretary is Edna Boer Leaders are Mrs Huituna and Mrs Little Members from Thornton and Stroud have been welcomed to the club for this project Each member will plant garden consisting of 10 vetctablcs and four flowers Meetings are held once month Achievement Day will be held in August Faith Missionary plaque was placed on stained glass window on Sun day in memor of Roland Muller who was killed in car accident in September lOminute memage in Ger man was brought by Mr
