Alaska pipeline Canada has enough gas ac cording to most experts says Dr Rynard in his weekly newsletter It is quite evident that the urgency of the case at the pre sent moment is gas shortage in the United States he said Pointing out that the only time supplies could be shipped in the area of the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline was when the river was open for navigation which is only for couple of months each year he noted the benefits of an Alaska Highway Pipeline The Americans are now ship ping their oil by pipeline from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez Alaska where it is transported to tankers and shipped down the coast of British olumhia to the United States To meet the urgency of the problem in the US it would appear that the Alaska High way pipeline project could carry gas along side the oil pipeline from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez and on the way could cut off and go across Alaska to the southern Yukon where damage to the ecology in the Yukon would be minimal It would then follow the Alaska Highway which would allow speedier construetion with minimal difficulty and would of course increase the importance of the Alaska Highway Proposal for addition to Bradford High asked The Simcoe County
