for large boats at its proposed lakeshore park says Mayor Ross Archer The mayor and other city of ficials met recently with group of boating enthusiasts and harbor construction ex perts to discuss using floating concrete docks in place of the controyersial sheet piling tor the development to be built on fill between Hayfield and Mill caster street Sheet piling would cost $325000 making it the most ex pensiye single item in development which cottld cost SUGGESTED RETAIL $7495 as much as $1 million Holding the fill in place with rip rap broken sidewalks and the like would be far cheaper but would rule out lockage for largeboats lhe floating concrete docks would he cosiderahly cheap er than sheet steel the mayor said and could be used in con junction with rip rap to permit large craft to dock He said no cost figures are available Further study will be necessary the mayor said but the proposal will be one of the things will he considering lhe docks in use at Port redit and elsewhere
