Wednesday The threeday tournament will feature teams from 12 of the 17 districts in Ontario Teams will start arriving Sunday afternoon With team from Rainey River Ont Collingwood Collegiate Institute will represent the Georgian Bay area Collingwood won the right to represent this area by defeating Twin Lakes of Orillia 85 Owen Sound 112 and Midland 93 at recent bonspiel held in Richmond Hill The Collingwood rink finished tied with Barrie Central Collegiate but had better point total The rink skipped by COIleen Walker is expected to do well Other members of the rink include vice Debbie Walker se cond Debbie Drew and lead Ellen Barton Opening ceremonies are at 830 am Monday with the first draw scheduled for am The final is expected sometime Wednesday afternoon Orillia moves to allOntario The boys basketball season came to an end on weekend With the playing of the Georgian Bay Secondary School Association tGBSSA championships Orillia District Collegiate and Vocational Institute won the senior championship for the third straight year defeating Thornlea 6457 Sean Wilson led the winners with 17 points Orillia now moves on to the OFSSA finals in Chatham March 21 22 23 Orillia opens the competition by meeting team from 01 tawa Valley Monday The team will play one exhibition game Saturday against topranked school from Tillsonburg Since going to OFSSAI two years ago Orillia has finished no worst than fourth place out of 12 teams Last year they finiskhed third and hope to improve in this standing next wee But as coach Paul Amos said it all depends on the luck of the draw Amos ex plained that this years team is not the strongest he has had but they do work well together Wilson will be the key to the teams success Since starting at ODCVI five years ago Wilson has played four
