system ac cording to the chairman of councils water commission Martin Connolly in an inter view Thursday said the financ ing provided by Central Mor tgage and Housing Corp CMHC will enable the village to expand the water system to supplya pulation of 1540 He sai the improvements in clude pumphouse and new well located in the southwest area of Cookstown The new water rates said Connoll apply to 325 residen tial an 22 commercial users two restaurants and the Cook stown curling club Thou water rates have in crease substantially to pre sent residents Connolly said the Cookslane subdivision when completed will contri bute more than half the money needed to pay off the debenture through lot levies The developer must pay the village $2500 for each lot it develops he said and $1151 of each lot levy will go towards repayment of the debenture If all 92 lots set aside for the Cookslane project are devel oped the village will receive $105792 toward the cost of the water system improvements
